Update: Grandmother Dies, Two Children Critical After Crash

We posted earlier this week in regards to a terrifying auto accident that at the time had injured eight people, including an infant and three children, in Oakland Park. At the time, no one had been killed as a result of the crash and the cause of the accident was still under investigation given the short amount of time that had passed between the accident and the publishing of the initial report.

The Sun-Sentinel has provided an update, which includes the death of one person:

“A newborn baby and a 7-year-old boy remain in critical condition two days after they were in a car crash that killed a grandmother and injured seven people, authorities said.

One-month-old Travis Allen was taken to Broward General Medical Center on Wednesday with Tyler Supall, 7, and the six others involved in the Oakland Park wreck.

Linda Fulton, 42, was driving a 2000 Saturn westbound on Northeast 56th Street Wednesday when a pickup truck going north on North Andrews Avenue struck the driver’s side of her car at 4:20 p.m., the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

The Saturn, with five passengers inside, slammed into a sign, a pole and some hedges. The impact threw the baby boy from the car. Firefighters had to pull out Fulton and Supall, who were trapped inside.

Fulton was taken to Broward General in critical condition and died Thursday.”

Officials have not yet detailed the cause of the crash, but it appears that at least parts of the scenario have been reconstructed.
